20 Facts about Mona Elizabeth Gerber

1.) Misses her grandma
Mona lost her grandma on her dad's side when she was a teenager, and since then has taken some flip-flopping choices in her life. The half-sleeve tattoo on her left arm commemorates her being comforted by grams after having to live with the surname "Gerber". Rather than associating it with the baby food, her grandma would remind her that it was also a type of daisy. She was incorrect, as it is actually the Gerbera daisy and not Gerber, but sometimes it's the sentiment, not the facts, that stick with you. She also has a heart on the side of her neck which has no meaning whatsoever other than to be "cute".

2.) Judgmental
Oh but you better believe it. Mona would never show it or even admit to it unless cornered and threatened with a cow-prod, but she is always watching, always judging. Most of her assumptions are made on appearance, but if someone who otherwise looks pretty put together acts like a dick, it would be very hard to get her respect back.

3.) Terrified of BEING judged
Perhaps it's her own psychosis, but if she feels someone she has judged as "worthy" is drawing conclusions about her that are less than favorable, she will either shut off completely in order to stop it, or try her hardest to accomplish whatever it is she can do in her power to be viewed more favorably.

4.) Loves musicals
The older ones, specifically. Her favorite is The Music Man.

5.) Professional schmoozer
Without even consciously knowing she does it at times, Mona is easily able to pick up on someone's wavelength and pick a proper topic of pleasantry. Age and gender seem to not be a factor, save for one rather large exception, that being...

6.) Doesn't get along with children
Belying her usual chipper nature, it's somewhat of a surprise when people find out Mona neither gets along with nor wants kids. One could conjecture that she has a hard time relating to people who do not necessarily NEED anything from her or expect anything of her, and having to sort out her honest answers for a 6 year old's ardent questions might make her feel put on the spot.

7.) Also a professional smiler
Seriously. She is fluent in every tilt of the lip, flash of the teeth, and squint of the eye known to humanity.

8.) Intimidated by men
Mona is not quite practiced in the art of understanding the opposite gender, and due to this, she is at complete unease with them and has a poor time expressing herself to them accurately. This is not to say that she avoids them completely - quite the opposite, she rather masks her feelings of discomfort with a facade of charm. She figures the more amiable she is, the less likely they are to do anything to hurt her or write her off. Most of the time it works.

9.) Has dried and pressed every flower bouquet she's ever received
This includes the corsages from the three proms she attended as well as singular flowers she has plucked off of people's lawns walking home. She keeps them all in a large binder that she sometimes pages through before she goes to sleep, most often after a long night of partying when she is in most need of comfort.

10.) Barbecue junkie
Not only does she put the sauce on everything - from potato chips to broccoli to cheese sandwiches - but she really loves the actual grilling of food on a barbecue when it can attract a crowd. Being social around food and drink is one of the only things that legitimately makes Mona light up in her otherwise sad ruse of a social life, which might explain why she chooses to take so many hours working at an alehouse SERVING food and drink.

11.) Deep thinker but shallow expression
Really. The girl takes the time to think about the world, what is going on around her, people she meets, the meaning of life, God, the universe, beauty, heartbreak and whether or not her existence could cause some distant butterfly effect in centuries to come. However, she is most likely to do this thinking while painting her toenails because she was sick of the prior color.

12.) Convinced she will be alone the majority of her life
The thought terrifies her and is rather ludicrous, but a part of her has resigned to it. One day she believes her current and only good friend will move on to someone more willing to assert themselves, and she will be cast out of her mind-bogglingly large group of friends like a moldy, empty can. Truth be told though, she often does not think being given a fresh start would be the worst thing for herself...

13.) Has never had a committed relationship
She has had a fair amount of admirers, dates, one-night stands, flings, rebounds, obsessions and three accounts of puppy love, but to say she's ever really worked with someone on building a romantic bond would be laughable. Commitment would require her trusting someone to like her beneath the mirage, which she does not.

14.) Likes her legs a lot, but...
Spring-time through early autumn she lives in either shorts or a bikini bottom. However, while she has no reservations about low-cut tops, she has issues with baring her full torso and will accordingly cover it at all times, even wearing some kind of shirt in intimate settings, if she can help it. She considers her money-makers to be her gams, glutes and her grin.

15.) Sleeps all wrapped up in her blankets
She gets cold very easily, and though she does stay mostly still, curled up on her side, she must absolutely swathe herself in the comforter before she's really ready to snooze.

16.) Rarely worries about herself
Under the current circumstances, it has been quite a jolt for Mona to have to actually think about her own needs. Most of her life has been spent seeking other's approval and chameleoning her needs to others, whether this be as a shoulder to cry on, a wing-woman, a seat-saver, a punchline, or a snarky accomplice. However, in the life or death situation of her neck or someone else's, she has only just begun to realize that she is an individual, and countless nights musing over the fact that she may be making bad decisions have piled up too large to keep ignoring.

17.) Happy to look younger than she is
She values her baby-face, believing it to make her seem completely non-threatening and also feeling it will aid her in getting carded until she is 1,000 years old (at least), which she actually enjoys.

18.) Has got the rhythym
But is too silly about creative expression to be a great dancer or musician.

She desperately desires someone to really talk to. Someone who does not want to discuss what so-and-so wore to the VMA's or how what's-his-face was totally hitting on that-one-girl the other night. Mona wants someone who will ask her what she thinks about something... and really care about her answer.
